“Will leave you gasping for air.” “A spellbinding horror film.” Neon has debuted a final official trailer for Steven Soderbergh’s ghost story horror film Presence – following up the main official trailer released last fall. Ready to open in theaters in just a few weeks after a long wait. This originally premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival one year ago and is a chilling flip on the haunted house concept – it’s a shot-in-one-location thriller about a ghost’s presence inside a house. A family moves into a suburban house and becomes convinced they’re not alone. The rest of the story must not be spoiled – wait until you watch it in theaters to find out what happens next. Presence stars Lucy Liu, Chris Sullivan, Callina Liang, Julia Fox, Eddy Maday, and West Mulholland. It’s a chilling, very unsettling film with a smooth camera following a ghost that drifts around this house with a not-that-scary but also very-scary (once it gets going) supernatural story involving the kids. They released three teasers before this – but this might be the scariest trailer of them all.

Intro via Sundance: “A family moves into a suburban house and becomes convinced they’re not alone… [Soderbergh] returns to Park City with a film shot entirely in one location that will haunt audiences with its otherworldly story and constantly awe-inspiring visuals. Working from a taut, mysterious script by Koepp and featuring an exciting cast of known actors & newcomers, Presence is a thrilling cinematic ride that reifies Soderbergh’s status as an icon of American independent film.” Presence is directed by American producer / writer / filmmaker Steven Soderbergh, director of many films including Sex Lies & Videotape, Traffic, Ocean’s Eleven, Che: Part 1 & 2, Contagion, Side Effects, Haywire, Logan Lucky, Unsane, High Flying Bird, The Laundromat, Let Them All Talk, No Sudden Move, Kimi, and Magic Mike’s Last Dance, plus TV series including “The Knick”, “Mosaic”, “Full Circle“, and “Command Z“. The screenplay is written by David Koepp (Premium Rush, Inferno, Kimi). Produced by Julie M. Anderson and Ken Meyer. This first premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. Neon will release Soderbergh’s Presence in select US theaters starting January 24th, 2025 coming up this month. Don’t skip it. Who wants to watch?
