“How she got there, you’ll never know…” Universal has revealed the official trailer for a scary new horror movie called The Woman in the Yard, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (who also just directed Carry-On last month). A lone, spectral woman shrouded entirely in black appears on a family’s front lawn without explanation and warns them “today’s the day.” Where did she come from? What does she want? When will she leave? Only The Woman in the Yard knows. From Blumhouse, now “the most successful global brand in horror,” comes a new original chiller starring BAFTA and SAG nominee Danielle Deadwyler as Ramona, a woman crippled by grief after she survives a car accident that takes her husband. So this woman just sits there and gets closer & closer? Yep this is crazy freaky. The Woman in the Yard stars Deadwyler along with Okwui Okpokwasili, Russell Hornsby, Peyton Jackson, Estella Kahiha. This trailer features barely 60 seconds of footage but it’s supremely creepy – more than enough to wake up and make you feel unsettled.
Here’s the first trailer (+ poster) for Jaume Collet-Serra’s horror The Woman in the Yard, on YouTube:
A lone, spectral woman shrouded entirely in black appears on a family’s lawn and warns them “today’s the day.” Seriously injured, Ramona now must care for their 14-year-old son (Peyton Jackson) and 6-year-old-daughter (Estella Kahiha), alone in her rural farmhouse. Then one day the woman takes form in their yard. Ramona assumes the woman (Okwui Okpokwasili) is lost or demented, but as she creeps nearer & nearer to the house, it becomes clear she is no ordinary figure and her intentions are anything but peaceful. Now Ramona must rally to protect herself and her children from the grasp of the woman who simply won’t leave them alone. The Woman in the Yard is directed by Catalonian action filmmaker Jaume Collet-Serra, director of House of Wax, Goal II: Living the Dream, Orphan, Unknown, Non-Stop, Run All Night, The Shallows, The Commuter, Disney’s Jungle Cruise, DC’s Black Adam, and Carry-On previously. The screenplay is written by Sam Stefanak. Produced by Jason Blum, Stephanie Allain. Universal releases Blumhouse’s The Woman in the Yard in theaters starting March 28th, 2025 coming soon. Scary?
