Many thought it would get there last week, but everyone returned to school and work after the holidays this week, which led to softer-than-expected grosses.

Horror is always frontloaded, and if it is bad, word will spread fast, and by Sunday, it could lose momentum. Still, a top spot opening is a guarantee.
