“You can’t have it both ways! You’re either in… or your out!” Warner Bros has revealed the official trailer for The Alto Knights (also known as just Alto Knights), a gnarly new mobster movie based on a true story – written by the same writer of Goodfellas. This is set for release in March in just a few months – they’ve been waiting to unveil this trailer online until we’re into 2025 already. So here we go, time to meet the mob. Vito Genovese and Frank Costello are competing Italian-American mob bosses, and Genovese orders a hit on Costello. Costello survives but is wounded in the attempt and ultimately decides to retire from the Mafia – if he can pull it off. Robert De Niro stars twice as Vito and Frank in this movie. With a big ensemble New York cast including Debra Messing, Cosmo Jarvis, Kathrine Narducci, Michael Rispoli, Michael Adler, Ed Amatrudo, Joe Bacino, Anthony J. Gallo, Wallace Langham, Louis Mustillo, Frank Piccirillo, Matt Servitto, and Robert Uricola. This is an intriguing trailer and the make-up doesn’t look great. But who doesn’t want to see mobster De Niro facing off against another mobster De Niro? Bring it on.
Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Barry Levinson’s film The Alto Knights, direct from YouTube:
“The most dangerous enemy is an old friend.” This mobster thriller movie follows two of New York City’s most notorious organized crime bosses, Frank Costello (De Niro) and Vito Genovese (De Niro), as they vie for control of the city’s streets. Once the best of friends, petty jealousies and a series of betrayals place them on a deadly collision course that will reshape the Mafia (and America) forever. The Alto Knights is directed by acclaimed American filmmaker Barry Levinson, director of many films including The Natural, Young Sherlock Holmes, Tin Men, Good Morning Vietnam, Rain Man, Bugsy, Avalon, Toys, Disclosure, Sleepers, Wag the Dog, Sphere, Liberty Heights, An Everlasting Piece, Bandits, Envy, Man of the Year, What Just Happened, The Bay, The Humbling, Rock the Kasbah, and The Survivor previously. The script is written by Oscar nominee Nicholas Pileggi (Goodfellas). It’s produced by Oscar winner Irwin Winkler, Barry Levinson, Jason Sosnoff, Charles Winkler and David Winkler. Warner Bros will debut Levinson’s The Alto Knights in theaters worldwide starting March 21st, 2025 coming soon. Look any good? Want to watch?
